Good Article - A Bakery Confronts The Affordable Healthcare Act
As business owners, we’re all trying to figure out what impact this healthcare law is going to have on our companies. It’s not going to be good…
And many say that is the idea. We’re supposed to become angry and discouraged enough to clamor for a single payer system whereby the government would have complete control of the medical insurance system.
Time is short and the reality of all those pages of legislation will soon affect us in a very real way. Here’s a good article from the New York Times about the real-time decisions one business owner may have to make to survive.
Most business owners will work to find the best option for both their businesses and their employees. Make no mistake though, companies will do what they have to to survive. If they don’t, many more jobs will be lost. For anyone who thinks that would be the deserving outcome for business owners who seek to keep their businesses afloat in the face of this law, keep in mind that there really is no “free” anything. If you don’t have a job, the AHA still REQUIRES that you purchase health insurance and, if you don’t, you will pay a fine.
How do you feel about the new healthcare law?
